Priorities is the story of a young orphan boy who is adopted at the age of thirteen, an age at which most consider the child to be unadoptable. It follows the life of one, Trevor Matthews, in the journey toward and after adoption into a very affluent family. This first book explores the process of the King family, a gay couple, finding and becoming attached to the young man.
The book is mostly an extended prologue to the story which will actually commence in Book II beginning with Trevor's eventual adoption.
