Drake spent a couple of weeks with Oliver while his new parents enjoyed their honeymoon. The younger boys from the 'Sooloo' came to spend a few days toward the end. This entailed an orgy breaking out, with limitations.
The Draconian Embassy officially opened with a special guest speaker, Medici. He made a comment on how much Kyle looked like his grandfather, Kairu.
The refit of the 'Sooloo' was nearly completed. A meeting with the Space Fleet engineering staff and the some of the 'Sooloo's' engineering staff, along with Steve and Shasho Boyer was conducted.
Billy Angel found out which pilots were going to be on the 'Sooloo and was pleased that he was among them.
"I don't think it is possible for you boys to look any better than you look right at this moment," Admiral Gregory Robinson told his son, son-in-law, soon-to-be stepson, and grandson, as they lined up in his den for a proper military inspection.
Kyle, Danny and Ronnie were clad in their dress uniforms; all three were wearing solid Sapphire jackets with black belts at the waist, representing operations, with dark blue pants. Their uniforms, professionally cleaned and pressed by the laundry on the Space Fleet Headquarters campus, were immaculate. Greg was dressed in his amethyst dress uniform, his four stars indicating his position in the admiralty pecking order. He had COMMAND written all over him, from his formal bearing to the perfection of his uniform.
But the most spectacular person in the room was Koji, who was dressed in his ceremonial kimono, looking proud of his heritage and his place in his family. He stood at attention between his daddies, his eyes straight ahead, as his Admiral Grandpa inspected him along with his daddies. He agreed with his grandpa's final assessment—there really was no way he could look any better than he did right then.
"At ease sons, but be careful not to mess up those uniforms," Greg commanded. He looked at Koji and grinned, "Or the kimono." Danny, Kyle and Ronnie sat on the couch and Koji sat on a chair next to his grandpa's chair.
"Are you boys nervous?" he asked. They shook their heads in unison. "Well, that's good to know, because I sure am."
"But we're not the ones getting married," Ronnie pointed out. He looked at his stepbrothers. "Besides, two of us are already married."
"Two of us are married," Kyle agreed. "We had our chance to be nervous then."
"I was scared shitless," Danny confessed. When he realized what he'd just said, he turned red and apologized to Greg.
"You're not apologizing to anybody else?" Greg asked.
"Koji and Kyle could have cussing contests between them, so why apologize to those two?" Koji nodded in agreement. "I will apologize to Ronnie, since I still don't know him that well."
"You guys haven't heard cussing until you heard me scream at a balky side thruster," Ronnie grinned.
"Well, if everybody is ready, I'll call for our car to make sure we're there on time," Greg said.
"And that means we must be ten minutes early," Koji reminded his grandfather.
"Fifteen," Greg chuckled as he texted in his transportation request.
The driver of the luxurious Admiralty van was Petty Officer Hakim Wasti, who hailed from Pakistan. He was one of the senior drivers for the Space Fleet motor pool. He followed all the proper protocol, from salutes, to offering to carry the Admiral's briefcase (the offer was refused, as was usually the case), to opening the doors in the proper order according to rank and or status. Hakim opened the front passenger door for Greg first.
By now, he was used to seeing teens and children in officer attire and usually didn't give it a second thought. But this was the first time seeing them in dress uniforms and he was amazed by how completely professional Kyle, Danny and Ronnie looked. As for Koji, he found his kimono simply breathtaking.
On the ride to the chapel, Kyle sat back and thought about the past few days. Those days had been unbelievably enjoyable. For the first time since shipping out on the Sooloo, he had been able to enjoy just being a kid. Kyle's time with Corey had been so much fun in so many ways, once Corey got over the fact that Kyle was just another twelve-year-old buddy rather than a heroic Space Fleet officer.
Ronnie had shown himself to be everything a boy would want in a big brother, from how he treated Kyle and Danny with respect, to his sense of humor, his big brother strength and wisdom, his willingness to teach and his incredible sexiness in bed.
When Kyle discussed his feelings with Danny the night before, Danny looked shocked.
"Are you having second thoughts about everything?" Danny asked.
"Not really. But I am remembering how much fun it is to be just a regular boy and discovering how much I've been missing."
"Well, don't forget where the grass is greener. And we all get to do fun things together, especially on the holodeck. From campouts to skinny dips, to pickup basketball games, to just running around screaming and yelling."
"I know, and I appreciate that Dave lets us have our chances to be boys. But, no matter what, there is always those three stripes on my collar and the responsibility I have—those don't go away."
"You're not saying you want to go back to being a troublemaker, are you?"
"I don't ever want to go back to that life again. No, I guess how I really feel is that I'm proud of where I am and what I've done since being on the Sooloo, but I'm also happy I got to just… I don't know... I guess the term is, I got to just let my hair down."
"Are you sure don't mean let your pants down?" Danny giggled.
"I'll show you what happens when I let my pants down."
"Do it!"
Kyle couldn't help but get a stirring in his pants and a grin on his face when thinking of what happened next. He also thought of what his upcoming night with Gordy was going to be like, which made his cock start to get hard. Danny had given him carte blanche with Gordy in bed, and he was eager to take advantage of that. Danny had similar permission with Steve Boyer, who had just returned from visiting Brad and Shasho in Kenya and expressed the desire to bed down with Danny for a night or two. Kyle and Danny agreed they would share every detail of their encounter with each other.
The most important thought in Kyle's head, however, was despite the joy he had been experiencing during his leave, he was eager to return to space. He loved the freedom he had been enjoying, while at the same time he missed the challenges, routines, relationships and, maybe most of all, the adventure of being a space explorer.
Kyle's thoughts came back to the present when the van stopped in front of the chapel. He would now be taking on his role as his father's best man, while proudly watching his son fulfilling the duties as ring bearer, as his father married his new mother.
Yesterday's rehearsal had gone well. Koji was so excited about his duty for his Admiral Grandpa that he performed flawlessly. As Kyle watched his son exit the van, he saw that Koji was carrying himself with a combination of pride and beauty. Kyle had no doubt this was going to be one of the best days of his life.
The wedding came off as planned—with military precision. The chapel was filled with friends and family of Greg and Alicia, fellow employees of Alicia, Greg's fellow admiralty members who were assigned to Space Fleet Headquarters, plus a couple who weren't. There were also other senior officers and staff members at Headquarters, friends and crewmates of Danny, Kyle, and Ronald, as well as five of Koji's friends: Oliver, Lars, Drake, Jason and Jonas, who came with their parents.
The guests that interested Kyle the most, however, were his living grandparents. That was changed at the reception. He had never met Alicia's parents, Marcus and Samantha Smith, who had flown into Vegas the night before. They would be staying for a week but couldn't come earlier because of work commitments.
"I am pleased to meet our new grandson," Samantha, who went by Sam, said with a smile after Alicia introduced her to Kyle. Samantha was a tall, light skinned black woman with brilliant gray hair, who had a cheerful smile which she flashed often and who loved to dispense big hugs, which Kyle found out quickly. "Welcome to our family, Kyle. You look so official in your uniform, but I sense a sweet boy underneath the bluster, just like your new brother Ronald."
"Thank you, Grand Sam," Kyle grinned.
"I see my grandson has given you lessons in our family's way to address me," she laughed. She was introduced to Danny next, who received the same smothering hug Kyle had. She then stepped back and eyed Danny up and down. "Two boys married at twelve. The world is indeed changing, but in a good way. It is senseless to smother true love."
Koji received the last hug, which was a little moist as Grand Sam shed a few tears. "My new great-grandson," she whispered. "I am so pleased to have you in my life and I hope you do a good job at teaching those two young men…," she pointed at Kyle and Danny,"… to be good parents."
"Koji teaches them really good, Great-Grand Sam," Koji grinned, causing Sam to break out in her infectious laugh.
Marcus, a tall black man who had been a basketball starter in high school and college. He taught high school history and was the head basketball coach at Curtis Lemay High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He had a boisterous personality and, like his wife, he had a ready smile and was easy to get to know. He was obviously pleased to meet the members of his family. He was particularly pleased to have learned from Ronnie that Kyle had played school basketball. He looked over the slightly built boy and congratulated him on playing with the big boys.
"Remember son, it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the…"
"…size of the fight in the dog," Kyle said in unison with his new grandfather.
"Your coach at the academy obviously knew what he was doing. How is it you didn't play with Ronnie?"
Ronnie provided the answer to that question. "Kyle played for the Prep School while I played for the Academy. We didn't see anything of each other until we started in the Explorer program."
"It's a shame you couldn't have continued with your basketball," Marcus said wistfully. "You would have been a great one."
"Kyle plays circles around me when we play one-on-one."
"I have to, because if I miss, the rebound is automatically yours," Kyle chuckled.
"Yeah, then you play your bump and grind defense and don't let me close to the bucket, and when I miss, you box me out and take the rebound after it hits the floor. I could kick your ass if you didn't play like a little demon."
Marcus laughed uproariously at the byplay between the two new brothers.
Dealing with his father's mother was going to be an entirely different affair for Kyle, however. He had not seen Miranda Buckner since he was seven. He hadn't liked her then and had a feeling he wasn't going to like her now. But then something unexpected happened; his grandmother never showed up at the wedding. Kyle wondered if she was sick and went to find his father and ask him about it. What Kyle didn't know was that his grandmother's presence in Vegas had not only stirred up a slew of emotions in his father, but also threatened to have a negative influence on his future.
Greg Robinson last saw his father, Captain William Robinson, when he was thirteen and attending the Space Academy. His father was the commanding officer of the Explorer of the Stars, one of Space Fleet's early stellar explorers. On four previous voyages it had made many important discoveries while reconnoitering nearby star systems, including a habitable planet, Nöerdlinger, which was now a thriving Earth colony.
William came to the Academy to say goodbye to his son Greg two weeks before his scheduled departure. The Explorer of the Stars was William Robinson's interstellar explorer ship command; he had commanded three voyages of the interstellar.
"The plan is for us to be back to Earth between eighteen and twenty-one months from now," William told his son. "I suspect you will have put on six inches, twenty-pounds of muscle, and will be shaving the next time I see you." Father and son spent three fulfilling days together.
Greg was used to his father's absences into deep space. This would be his third explorer trip since Greg was born and would also be his longest and farthest trip. The Explorer of the Stars launched from Earth orbit two weeks after the meeting between father and son and was never heard from again.
A month before Greg turned sixteen, the Explorer of the Stars was declared officially lost because the ship would have used up all of the fuel needed to maintain the ship's environmental systems. Even if it had enough fuel for a return journey from its projected destination, there would be nobody alive to bring the ship back to Earth.
Miranda Robinson had not liked her husband's profession. While she could tolerate his commercial voyages to Jupiter, she put her foot down when William announced he was being offered command of the Explorer of the Stars.
"You agreed that you would no longer accept assignments from the Exploration Division," she told her husband when he had announced his potential new assignment. "I forbid you from accepting."
"This is what I have worked for since the day I entered the Academy Prep School. This is something I have to do," William responded. Over his wife's stern objections, he accepted his new command.
After the ship was declared overdue, Miranda Robinson had a meeting with her son when Gregory took three days off of school for a period of mourning with his mother. "Gregory, I will not tolerate you staying here at this dreadful academy. Your father disregarded my wishes and went back to exploring. In your case, I am not stating my wishes, I am ordering you to leave your school so you will never be able to become like your father."
As much as fifteen-year-old Gregory Robinson missed his father, he looked up to his father as a hero. As he saw it, whatever fate happened to his father on his voyage of exploration had to have been something heroic, and he wanted to follow in his footsteps.
Instead of throwing a teenage tantrum, Greg used the kind of strategy that would eventually take him into the upper reaches of the Space Fleet Admiralty. Since the end of the semester was just under six weeks away, he used guile and charm to convince his mother to allow him to finish the term. He ended the term and left the academy to live with his mother and enter a private prep school, or so she thought.
What she didn't know was that he had asked Admiral Russell, the Dean of the Space Academy for permission to start classes for the new term a week late. He then met with Commander Orson, one of the guidance counselors, who steered him to the Advocate General's office for the legal advice he needed.
Just after the new semester started, Greg turned sixteen. While his birthday seemed empty without his father, he did something he knew his father would approve of. On the morning of his birthday he announced to his mother that he was returning to the Space Academy effective that afternoon.
"I forbid you going back," Miranda Robinson barked at Greg. "You have entered the Berkley Preparatory Academy effective next week, and that is where you are going. I have already told you that you are not going to grow up to be like your father and will not be returning to the Space Academy. You have no right to disobey me."
Instead of going ballistic, Greg addressed his mother as he would a superior officer he disagreed with. "With all due respect, Mother, I want to be like my father, who was a hero. In order to follow him into the exploration of space, effective today I declared myself to be an emancipated minor. Here is the legal paperwork." He slapped a three-page document onto her hand. "I have arranged for a car to pick me up at noon."
"Gregory Robin…"
"I love you, Mother, but my decision is final."
That was the last time Miranda talked to her son until Kyle was born, although Greg did his best to keep the communication lines between them open. The only communication Greg had received from Miranda in those years was a letter disapproving of his marriage.
But when she became a grandmother, Miranda softened some and tolerated her daughter-in-law while doting on her newborn grandson.
Her next visit was when Kyle was seven. By that time, she had married Robert Buckner, who worked as a diplomat for the Department of State of the North American Federation and was then an envoy working in Vegas to the United States of Earth. At the time of her visit, he had returned to his native Canada and took over as the chief of the NAF Department of State. Her stay was brief. Before leaving, she commented to Greg that Kyle was a cute boy but seemed "weird and could maybe use more discipline." Greg agreed that his son was behaving strangely, especially with his talking to the stars issue, but he didn't say anything to his mother about those feelings.
Greg had invited his mother to the wedding as a matter of courtesy. He had not expected her to accept the invitation and was surprised when she did.
Robert Buckner was now retired, and he and Miranda lived in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She had arrived the night before the wedding and called her son after checking into her hotel. As soon as his mother started in on him, Greg wished he hadn't invited her.
"You should be ashamed of how you have put your son into danger," she said after a curt greeting. "Sending him along with heaven knows how many other boys into space to do a man's work." Greg held his tongue as he waited for his mother to end her harangue. "To make matters worse, you say he's married to another boy at age twelve and he has a son? That is definitely immoral, if not illegal. Really Gregory, you're worse than your father was."
Greg held back on his urge to cut off the call and simply said, "Using boys to man the explorer fleet was deemed necessary considering the number of years the explorations would take. Mother, these boys were hand-picked and specially trained." He didn't go into the fact that with the installation of the Draconian drive those parameters had changed—he knew his mother would find a way of taking advantage of that information.
"As for Kyle's private life, while I was not enamored by the situation at the time, I am seeing both Kyle and Danny in a different light. They are happy together and love each other, and in the end that is all I need to know. As for the legalities, what they did is legal not only within Star Fleet regulations but is also legal in accordance with Earth law."
"Trust me, Robert has already looked into that and he strongly disagrees, as do I. I will not have my grandson die in space the way his grandfather did." While William Robinson had been declared legally deceased, no one knew his actual fate. "And, I most certainly will not tolerate your acceptance of my grandson's loose morals. Robert and I are looking into taking legal custody of Kyle to give him a safe and moral home away from his amoral father who shows no regard for the safety of his son or his moral standards."
Greg had heard enough. "Is this the reason you flew all the way up here from Mexico, to be rude, insulting and to threaten the welfare of my son?"
"Something needed to be done now, and this seemed a good time to do it."
"Mother, I'm asking that you not attend the wedding if your intent is to cause trouble."
"You have treated me, your mother, with no love or consideration since you were fifteen. As I already said, I am here to save my grandson from you."
"Then I repeat. If your intention in coming here is not to attend my wedding to a woman whom I love dearly, then don't come. Get on a transport and go home."
"Well, I will not go where I am not wanted, but you and your exploration program have not heard the last of me and Robert. Your years of treating me like dirt are now going to haunt you, Gregory Robinson. We will give your son the life he deserves and take down you and your precious program. Good-bye."
It was Miranda who broke the connection in anger and not Greg. While he was once again angry at the idiocy and self-centeredness of his mother, he also knew there was zero chance of her campaign to gain custody of Kyle to meet with success. Still, the fact that she brought so much shit up the night before what should be one of the happiest days of his life told Greg that his mother could no longer be a part of his life. The notes and emails he had sent to her for three decades would cease. He had no further use for her aggravations.
One thing he was grateful for was that through the years, she had shown him how not to be a parent. It was when Bill Mirah pointed out to him the direction he was going in, that he realized that as a parent he had become the same self-centered, demanding control freak his mother was. He grasped the fact that the parent he needed to emulate was his father, who had always treated him with love and compassion when he was a boy. It was when he realized he needed to be the father to Kyle that his own father had tried to be to him that his relationship with his son started to improve.
The next day at the wedding reception, when Kyle asked his father where his grandmother Miranda was, Greg simply said that something had come up that caused her to leave for home. While it wasn't the complete truth, it was close enough to keep Kyle's grandmother from having any influence on the wedding, even in her absence.
Sitting amongst the crowd in attendance at the wedding of Admiral Robinson, Oliver Tietokone-Bowman and Drake Alexander Crusoe sat, hand-in-hand watching the pageantry unfolding before them.
In the time since they met at the reception of Drake's parents' wedding, their feelings for one another have grown exponentially. Little did the other know, but both were having similar thoughts as the events unfolded before them, Someday, that will be me and Oliver/Drake.
The pair have grown together faster than any boyfriend pair aboard the Sooloo, looking at them, both sets of parents thoughts mimicked those of their son.
When Greg was told that he and Alicia could kiss, both Drake and Oliver turned to one another and kissed as well. When the kiss was broken, in unison they whispered to one another, "Someday that that will be us."
Dave, Hal, Will and John witnessed this and overheard the comments, each knowing that soon... very soon... they'd need to have a serious talk with the boys.
Kyle, Danny, Ronnie and Koji, along with the wedding guests, tossed the traditional birdseed at the bride and groom as they climbed into the backseat of the Admiralty staff car that would take the newlyweds to the Luxor Hotel (or the Luxor IV as Greg called it) where they would enjoy two nights in a suite at the newly completed version of the luxury hotel. Those two nights would suffice as a pre-honeymoon along with a Valentine's night together. Their real honeymoon would take place when all the boys returned to space. That would be when the Victorious left Earth orbit in mid-to-late March.
"Why did we throw birdseed at Admiral Grandpa and Grandma Alicia?" Koji asked after the crowd of well-wishers waved goodbye to the just married couple.
"They used to toss rice back in the olden days," Kyle replied, "but it made a mess that nobody cleaned up, so they changed it to birdseed so the birds would eat it, and they would clean it up."
"But why did they throw the rice at them then?"
"That would be something perfect for you to look up on your computer," Danny suggested.
"Why can't you and Daddy Kyle just tell me?"
"Because your Daddy Kyle and I don't know." Danny looked over at Ronnie and asked him if he knew.
"Beats the daylights out of me," Ronnie shrugged.
Jason ran up to Koji and tugged on the sleeve of his sari. "Come on, we gotta go now," Jason said urgently.
"Hang on," Danny told them. "We have to wait for our ride because Koji's overnight bag is in the car."
"And make sure you hang the sari up—don't be tossing it around," Kyle admonished his son.
Koji stood with his hands on his hips. "Koji always hangs up his sari because it is very sacred and very beautiful. You make me mad when you say things like that."
"I just wanted to remind you. Sometimes you forget things."
"I never forget that. NEVER!"
At that point the car pulled up. The driver popped the trunk. Koji took out his bag and set it on the ground. He gave each of his dads and his Unka Ronnie a hug, picked up the bag, and started to follow Jason to where Jace, Jordan and Jonas were waiting. Kyle shouted for them to stop, which they did.
Koji wondered what he had done wrong this time, but Kyle went over to Jason instead. He put his arm around the boy and said something in his ear. Jason nodded and once again started toward where his family was waiting.
"Did you tell Jason what we talked about?" Koji asked Kyle, although he was fairly certain he knew what it was.
"Yes, I did. Make sure Jason and Jonas remember."
"Koji doesn't forget important things, remember?"
"I do, which is why you have the important job to remind them."
Koji flashed a big grin and nodded; he liked being trusted to do important things. He followed Jason and the three new brothers climbed into the waiting car, eager for their night alone at home.
And it was quite the night. They stripped naked, snacked on reception leftovers, and then soaked in the hot tub. In fact, they did more than soak seeing as their hands roamed freely over each other's smooth, wet bodies.
They eventually hauled their waterlogged bodies out of the hot tub, dried themselves, took care of their evening toiletries, and climbed into Kyle and Danny's bed.
That was where the "brothers" solidly bonded. Even though Ronnie was his brother-in-law, Danny considered him his brother. Kyle and Danny figured they had been almost like brothers until they became husbands. The night in bed was led to ten orgasms among the hormone driven boys. Ronnie led the parade with four, with Kyle and Danny splitting the remaining six.
After the wedding, Scott and Łuke flew back to Colorado. Sukotto was spending the weekend with Noah. Scott opened the door and called out. No one answered, so Scott looked around. His parents' bedroom door was open, which was typical when no one was asleep. Łuke called from the kitchen, "Scott, your parents left a note… Scott and Łuke, we went to Venice, Italy, for a romantic Valentine weekend. We'll see you on Monday. Love, Mom and Dad."
"So, it's going to be just the two of us all weekend," Scott smiled.
Łuke grinned, "I know what I would like to do after dinner, tonight."
"Speaking of which, did you make reservations?"
Łuke nodded, "Yes, they are at Chez Henri. Roger Duchamp, the great grandson of the founder of the original Chez Henri, personally confirmed them. I wonder how many Chez Henri's there are, now."
Scott, being a frequent guest at Chez Henri as he grew up, replied, "Well, the original is in Rapid City, South Dakota. Henri and Marine adopted a fourth son, Henri, Jr. He was a baby when he was adopted, so they got to name him. His descendants run it. Roger King and his husband Trevor opened one in Cody, Wyoming; Leon and Noel, being twins, went together and opened one in Vegas. Then Noel's son, Patrick opened one here in Beulah Valley. Roger is his son and runs it."
"Yes, we have reservations under the name of Trevor," Łuke told the maître de.
"Yes, but you are ten minutes early."
"Well, we have ingrained in us, nine minutes early is late," Scott replied. "We can wait, if necessary."
"Nonsense, Scott," Roger Duchamp insisted, "I will personally seat you. I haven't seen you since you left for the Academy. Perhaps you can update me, later."
"So, is your hunter's stew still as good as I remember?"
"Yes, it is," Roger smiled. "I don't think it's as good as Great-Grandfather's, but I am pleased with it, and I think he would have been happy."
"I've heard stories about Henri Duchamp," Łuke commented, "I think he would be very happy with how you emulate him."
"Thank you," Roger graciously accepted the compliment. "We believe how he was with his guests is part of why he was so successful, so we do try to emulate that. And so far, even a hundred years later, it still seems to work. Enjoy your meal, it's on me."
Scott and Łuke had a pleasant meal with light conversation. Roger checked on them a few times during his "rounds" of greeting guests. Scott told him about being on the Sooloo, being married to Łuke and about their son, Sukotto.
After their meal, Scott and Łuke went home to enjoy a night by themselves.
The next morning at breakfast, Ronnie admitted that the night before was the most fun he had ever had in bed with boys. "And I will be more than ready for tonight when your friends are here," he told his younger brothers. Corey, Gordy, Brad, Steve and Randy Jenkins would be spending the night with parental permission all the way around.
Kyle and Danny had been admonished by Greg to make sure the house and furniture were kept intact.
"Jeez, Dad, I outrank everybody except Gordy, Corey and Randy, who are civilians, although I have authority over Randy," Kyle had whined.
"Yes, when Randy is under contract and in space, but not now when he's on leave and is, in essence a civilian," Greg had pointed out. "And you and Ronnie are equal in rank."
"But I have authority over him because… well… because… well, damn, maybe I don't. I mean he is two years older than me."
Greg's response had been to call Ronnie to ask him who would be in charge between him and Kyle. "I should be because I am the oldest," had been Ronnie's response, "but I think it should be Kyle because he has family seniority and knows how to con you better than I do." Greg had roared with laughter and then named Kyle the senior officer for the boy bash.
The boys finished breakfast and started cleaning up. "Are you going to have anything left in you tonight?" Danny asked Ronnie. "You must have shot yourself dry last night."
"Wait until you hit puberty full blast," Ronnie responded. "Sometimes it feels like you can make it faster than you can shoot it. But yeah, I ran dry one night on our flight back to Earth. Five of us had a jerkoff contest to see who could have the most orgasms. My seven tied Victor Dixon, who is fourteen. Now THAT wore me out."
After cleaning the dishes, the boys went out to the hot tub and soaked. The talk was about the boys who would start arriving in a couple hours and who liked doing what and who they liked doing it with—at least so far.
"This should be a ton of fun," Ronnie chortled. "But I need to start chasing some girls of the female variety because once you and Danny launch, I am going to be strictly hetero until we launch."
"Do you have anybody in mind?" Kyle asked.
"Mary Paxton, a nice Canadian girl who is fourteen and an Academy student. We went out some before I launched."
"Isn't she the one who is trying to get an all-girl explorer ship launched?"
"Yes, she is, but not very successfully. Not many of the small number of girls at the Academy are interested in spending their youth exploring space. They're happy to stay in the solar system or on interstellar runs to the colonies. She says she needs to convince at least a dozen more girls that space exploration is the way to go."
"Where would she get a ship?" Danny asked. "The Explorer class ships are all manned and in use."
"She has one in mind—the Pathfinder," Ronnie answered.
"Dad served on that ship," Kyle gushed. "It was retired a long time ago."
"And it is orbiting with the mothball fleet."
The mothball fleet consisted of retired ships that had potential future use. They were in orbit around Venus where they were out of the way but easy to find and access. The fleet's headquarters were at the Venusian space station where a Captain and five technicians made up the regular mothball crew.
"Well, at least Venus is good for something other than being hot and miserable," Kyle noted. "I wish her good luck in getting something going."
"Admiral Mirah supports her, but she says he doesn't think much of her chances. He tells her to keep working at it though, because you never know what could happen."
Their conversation was interrupted by the doorbell chiming. "Well, somebody is early," Kyle noted as he climbed out of the hot tub. He donned a terrycloth robe and headed into the house to see who it was.
Kyle saw Brad and Steve on the door's video screen. "Surprise!" Brad and Steve shouted out in unison.
"I guess it is a surprise," Brad grinned. "I am willing to bet you are wearing nothing under that robe." Kyle confirmed Brad's guess by opening his robe and flashing his friend.
"Oh my, the fun has started already," Steve said. "Good thing we came early."
"We were just sitting in the hot tub, talking about…," Kyle started.
"SEX!" Brad and Steve finished.
"Looks like it's a good thing we got here early," Brad smirked. "We had a chance to get an early ride and we took it."
"Take your clothes off and come out and join us. There's room for six, even eight if you don't mind getting intimate."
The hot tub soon had five naked tweens and teens sitting in it. Brad and Steve kept the sex topic alive by telling about their adventures in Kenya. Steve and Shasho had flown there with Brad to meet Brad's family and have fun.
Steve learned a lot about Brad's horny cousins, nieces, nephews and siblings. "Brad came to us very learned in the ways of sex, in case you didn't know," Steve laughed.
"You know you learned a few things you didn't know before," Brad pointed out.
"Yeah, like how to make out with and fuck a girl."
"You fucked a girl?" Danny asked incredulously.
"Two girls, three times total. They were Brad's cousin, fourteen, and Brad's niece, thirteen."
"Did you like it?
"Oh hell, yes. I mean it was sex, right. But let me tell you, I'll take a guy as my first choice every time." Steve turned to Brad and gave him a friendly punch on his right arm. "And those guys didn't teach me much that I didn't already know."
"Liar," Brad laughed as he returned Steve's punch.
"What did Shasho do?" Kyle asked Brad and Steve.
"He and my cousin Matty became really good friends," Brad replied. "They kept to themselves for the most part. Shasho admitted after we returned home that unlike his Opsola Steve, he learned many new things in bed."
"He did not say that," Steve protested.
"Okay, maybe not exactly. But… he did say that Matty was a good teacher."
As the morning moved on, nobody missed the flirting going on between Ronnie and Brad. The two were obviously smitten with each other.
Randy and Gordy were the next to arrive. Both were carrying a box with food. Kyle and Danny had dressed to greet the invited guests at the expected time. They went out to the van that brought the two and helped bring in some more food. Randy and Gordy brought premade sandwiches; they would be preparing Randy's "world famous" shimmy lasagna for dinner.
Corey was the last to arrive. Kyle was surprised to observe that he was the shyest and quietest of the boys, at least to start. But it didn't take long for Gordy to get him going by sharing jokes and giggles.
After Corey arrived and got warmed up, the boys shed their clothes and dug into their sandwiches. They spent the afternoon playing games, swimming (the pool was warm even if the air wasn't), hot tubbing, comparing cocks (hard and soft), telling jokes, talking about sports, listening to the space veterans share their adventures, and of course, talking about sex.
Randy and Gordy started to work on cooking dinner around 1500. Gordy dragged Corey into the kitchen and put him to work. At first Corey grumbled and resisted, but Gordy sweet talked him into slicing tomatoes, and before he knew it, Corey was having fun helping prepare dinner.
After dinner and dessert, the sexual discussion became serious. The boys talked about what they were going to do and how they were going to partner up. Some of the matchups had been considered prior to the boy party, but nothing had been decided for sure.
The final matchups were Brad and Ronnie, Gordy and Kyle, Corey and Steve, finishing with Danny and Randy. Corey was disappointed. He had hoped to be able to pair up with Gordy but understood when Gordy told him that he and Kyle messed around on their Mars trip and told each other they wanted to try more. Corey felt much better when Gordy accepted his invitation to have an overnight at his house before Gordy left for home. Instead, he would have some fun with an older boy, which wasn't a bad thing. He also would have time to mess around with Kyle on a later day, while Gordy would be leaving for home with his brother soon.
The eight boys enjoyed a circle jerk to calm themselves down, and each pair retired to one of the four beds in the house. Kyle and Danny agreed they would be wide open with their party partner, and both took advantage of that decision. All the boys were satisfied with their pairing and with what they had been able to accomplish in bed.
The boys were tired the next morning. Their physically active night hadn't allowed for adequate sleep. Kyle had let everybody know that they couldn't sleep in since they needed to have breakfast and then get the house in order before the newlyweds arrived home from their mini honeymoon.
Right after Kyle's alarm rudely awakened him and Gordy, he went to the bedrooms for the mass wakeup. He left clean sheets and gave instructions as to what needed to be done to get the bedrooms in shape. As the beds were being made and the rooms straightened out, the boys took showers in pairs.
Kyle paired with Corey, Randy was with Ronnie, Brad showered with Danny, and Steve enjoyed being with Gordy, who he thought was amazingly sexy. While the boys engaged some sex talk accompanied by a bit of groping, there wasn't enough time to do anything beyond touching.
The boys dressed as soon as their showers were finished. Randy and Gordy whipped up a quick breakfast. When Greg and Alicia arrived home just before eleven, the house was clean, and the guests were ready to leave. Greg drove them to their destinations, accompanied by Kyle. He relished playing cab driver for the boys, a duty that made him feel like a real father to real boys. For Greg Robinson, life had never been better.
As he rode around town with his friends and his father, Kyle once again reveled in being a wild ass boy instead of a staid officer. But, as he told Danny later, the night had been wild and wonderful and while he loved the close friendship he had developed with Gordy, he found himself once again longing to be that staid officer as well as a loving husband and father. Danny agreed, and reminded Kyle that his being a loving husband should be tested in bed that night.
That afternoon, Alicia cooked up a sandwich and soup lunch for her family. It was her first meal as a new wife and mother. She had to fight off tears of happiness as she worked in the kitchen.
On the ride home, after dropping off the guests, Kyle asked his father if he could have a private meeting when they got home.
"Of course, you can son. Your time is my time whenever possible. I take it what you want to talk about is more important than chatter in the front seat of the van."
"I think it is, but don't worry, it isn't anything bad. It's just something personal I need to talk about with you."
"I am ready to listen." Something that wasn't the case just a few brief months ago, he lamented to himself. "But I have found in my years as an officer and a gentleman that serious talks work out much better on a full stomach. So, let's meet in my office after eating your mother's first officially cooked meal."
"Sounds like a plan," Kyle grinned.
After a delicious lunch, Kyle met with his father in his father's office. Greg sat in an easy chair in a corner near his desk and Kyle settled on the leather couch situated along the living room wall. From there he was able to look out onto the courtyard, where he could see Danny and Ronnie happily frolicking naked in the pool. Using the discipline he had been learning since he started Explorer training, and had started to master as a senior officer on the Sooloo, Kyle concentrated his attention on his father. Greg nodded and told Kyle this was his show.
Kyle gave his report as he had been trained to, succinctly and to the point. He told of how things started disappearing around the Sooloo after it launched. He told how Jason and Jonas stowed away on the Sooloo and took items that appealed to them as well as food, water, and items needed for their survival and comfort.
"You mean those two little munchkins ran circles around the entire crew of the Sooloo?" Greg asked incredulously.
"Yep. Those twins are quite a pair. And they got themselves on my bad guy list by snitching Megrez," Kyle told him.
"Oh my, I can see where that could set you off."
"But, one thing I still had was Al Bear."
"Al Bear?"
Kyle nodded. "Yeah, the bear you gave me."
"Ah, I wondered what had happened to that stuffed creature. I assumed you jettisoned it out of the nearest airlock since it had come from me."
"Dad, things had changed by then. I didn't jettison it because it came from you, I loved it because it came from you." Kyle, as he knew he would, was moving out of his reporting officer's script to his loving son reality.
"Anyway, the little imps were finally caught," Kyle went on. "I mean you can only hide out for so long in that small of an area. I had made it known I wanted Megrez back, no matter what, which is what happened." Kyle sat in silence, fighting to breathe normally and smoothly.
"But…," Greg uttered softly.
Kyle took a deep breath and held it for a few seconds before letting it out slowly. He could feel the tears he had been trying so hard to avoid dribbling down his cheeks. "Those boys were alone and scared and all they had was each other and Megrez," he said, his voice quavering. "Now I had Megrez and I had something else." He wiped his face and went on. "I think, whether we knew it or not, that bear was brought on board the Sooloo just for Jason and Jonas. They needed Al Bear so bad and I brought him and gave him to those amazing boys." Kyle didn't know why he was losing control, but he knew he was.
Greg rose from his seat, pulled some tissues from a box on his desk, sat next to his son on the couch, and gently wiped the moisture from his face. "Senior officers don't cry," Kyle giggled nervously. He leaned his head against his father's shoulder. Greg placed his arm around him and pulled him as close as he could.
"Good senior officers do cry when the time is right for them to do so. A good senior officer is human and has a heart or he wouldn't be able to lead."
Kyle looked up at his father. "Dad, they named him for me. Kyle Bear. It should be for both of us." It was then that Kyle saw tears form in the eyes of his often-stoic father.
"Amazing, you and the twins are family," Greg murmured. "We're all family." He moved tissues from one hand to another, wiped his eyes and blew his nose."
Kyle flashed his first smile since he had entered his father's office. "It looks like you were right. Senior officers do cry. They just do it when the time is right." He wrapped his arms around the father he had once been so distant from and now had become so close to. "I love you, Dad."
"I love you too, son. You have become the light of my life and I know you will grow to be more amazing than you already are." He kissed Kyle on the forehead. "I would love to meet Kyle Bear some day."
"You'll meet him later today. The twins are bringing him to show you."
"And I bet you would like me to act surprised to see the furry critter."
"You won that bet."
"Wow. I wasn't expecting anything this deep and emotional."
"I wasn't either," Kyle chuckled. "I was just going to report on where the bear was, and it became, I don't know, it became a…"
"…father son bonding moment," Greg grinned. "I think I have a solution to help us brighten up before the youngsters and the bear come."
"It wouldn't happen to be the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies that Mom was pulling out of the oven after lunch would it?"
Greg tousled Kyle's hair. Kyle was about to say that senior officers don't get their hair tousled, but then the thought struck him that while senior officers didn't get their hair tousled, sons who were genuinely loved by their fathers did.
The twins arrived an hour later with Lars, Oliver, Drake, Koji and of course, Kyle Bear. They were greeted at the door by Ronnie, who told them to put their overnight bags in the living room for the time being.
None of the boys could miss the smell of freshly baked cookies. Ronnie could almost sense their drooling and directed them to the dining room, where a plate of freshly baked cookies was awaiting them.
Jason saw Kyle enter the house from the courtyard and ran up to him, holding Kyle Bear in front of him. "Unka Kyle, look. I remembered to bring him."
"Good job, Jason. You did great," Kyle gushed.
"What do I do with him?"
"I think you should introduce him to you know who."
"You mean, Unka Grandpa Admiral?"
"Exactly."
"He's only Grandpa Admiral to me," Koji said, "but it's different for you and Jonas."
"Yes, it is. Where is he?"
"I'm right here," Greg said as he entered the dining room with Danny. Jason lit up and scurried over to his Unka so he could complete the task Unka Kyle had given him.
He held up Kyle Bear and smiled at Greg. "This is Kyle Bear. Unka Kyle gave him to me and Jonas when we got found. Unka Kyle said you gave him Kyle Bear, is that true?"
Greg held out his hands and gestured for Jason to hand him the bear. Jason offered the stuffed animal to him. Greg held it high and showed it to everyone in the room, which were the eight boys and Alicia. "Yes, Jason, I did give your Unka the bear just before he left Earth on the Sooloo." He knew he was speaking to Jason because Kyle had told him that he had given Jason the task of bringing the bear.
Jonas joined the conversation. "That means you gave him to me and Jason to love us and for us to love him. I mean, you didn't really give him to us, but that's how it happened."
Greg ignored the somewhat convoluted logic and asked, "Did it work? Did Kyle Bear love you?"
Jonas started to answer the question. "He loved us so much and… "
"…we loved him even more," Jason finished.
"That is all I needed to know." Greg looked over at Kyle. "I am happy he found a wonderful home with two fantastic boys to share love with."
Kyle Bear had come full circle with the admiral. He went from a gesture that Greg hoped would be something good for his son to remember him by to something special that channeled the love of Kyle, the twins, not to mention himself, into something that would bond them all together forever.
"We need a special place to put him until you and Jonas take him home," Greg told Jason.
It was Koji who came up with the solution. Nobody had noticed him leave, but he made sure his return was noticed as he carried Megrez and his wyvern Chidrag. The three stuffed animals were placed on the mantle in the living room where they proudly surveyed their surroundings.
The rest of the day was spent "nakey swimming", hot tubbing, eating, horse playing, eating, playing games and having fun being boys. That night, Kyle, Danny and Ronnie slept together in Kyle and Danny's bed and had their brand of fun.
Koji and his friends went to Koji's room where Koji entertained them as a proud lord in his castle. Koji, Lars, Jonas, Jason, Oliver and Drake enjoyed their own brand of fun, which was just as much fun as what the older boys had enjoyed. When they finally got ready to sleep, the twins and Lars slept on Koji's bed, while the rest of the boys were strewn on the floor, just like their pillows, blankets and clothes.
Home of Admiral Gregory Robinson
In the weeks since meeting Kyle and subsequently Commander Hanson, Corey Adams was in effect, reborn. He'd changed his entire outlook on the path his life was to take. He was committed to making it into Space Fleet Academy and ultimately, the Explorer Program.
His efforts hadn't gone unnoticed. Commander Hanson, Admiral Robinson and Kyle had independently been keeping an eye on Corey and his actions.
An idea came to Kyle's mind; one that he hoped would solidify this new Corey for the future and reward him with something he had wished for his entire life.
As the Shakedown Cruise and relaunch approached for the Sooloo, Kyle felt this would be his only opportunity to put his thoughts into action and make them a reality.
Sitting on the couch at his parents' house, Kyle started writing. He outlined how Corey was before their meeting, the subsequent visits he'd had with Kyle, his meeting with Commander Hanson and the overt actions Kyle had been able to verify.
When he had finished, he opened a comm link to Hal. "Captain, would it be possible for me to meet with you and the Commodore at some point today? I have something I need to discuss with you both."
Hal, noticing Kyle being exceedingly formal, kept in the same mode of communication. "Commander, I think it could be arranged, but I need to have some idea as to the nature of this meeting."
"Sir, I would prefer to keep the details for when we meet, but suffice it to say, this has something to do with our Shakedown Cruise."
Hal realized that Kyle had averted the entire reason for the meeting but had given sufficient cause for a meeting between the Chief Astrogator and the Command staff. "Okay, Commander, but I will also be including my First Officer, Jordan Rivers, in the meeting."
"Thank you, Sir. I have no objections to Commander Rivers taking part in this meeting, as a matter of fact, I apologize for not asking for him to be there at the outset."
Hal had messaged both of the others and received confirmation that they could make a meeting at Space Fleet HQ at 1430 that afternoon. He conveyed the time to Kyle, and they ended the communication.
Kyle entered the assigned conference room fifteen minutes ahead of the scheduled time and took a seat. The room was empty except for the cart of snacks and drinks he had arranged for the meeting.
At 1420, Jordan, Hal and Dave entered. After taking a drink from the cart, they took their seats and Dave, as the senior officer present said, "Okay, Commander. Thanks for arranging for the snacks, to what do we owe the pleasure of this meeting?"
Kyle swallowed back the slight reticence he'd felt and stated calmly and confidently, "Sirs, as you may know, I have been working with a young man, helping him to get into the academy and ultimately, the Explorer program."
Hal inquired, "Corey Adams?"
"Yes, Sir. Commander Hanson took on the task of preparing Corey for the changes he'd need to make in his life to make his desires come to pass. I didn't really have full confidence that he'd be able to pull it off, but in the past few weeks, I have been watching him. Had I not known him before, I wouldn't recognize the changes in him. He has completely turned things around. He's been working harder than I could ever imagine. Turning in projects ahead of schedule, doing extra work without being told to do so, being a model of what a Space Fleet Cadet would be."
"Corey had been, much like I was, a bully. In the weeks since, he's actually approached the individuals he'd been bullying and apologized to them. In addition, he witnessed one of his former bully friends antagonizing another student and not only did he step in to stop it, he instructed the bully that he should go to the others and let them know that bullying of any kind would not be tolerated. He would make sure of that."
"This is all well and good, Commander," Jordan averred, "but what does that have to do with the Sooloo and her Shakedown Cruise?"
"Sirs, what I am about to propose is far out on the fringes of what might be considered standard operating procedure."
This statement piqued Dave's curiosity, "Go ahead, Commander."
"Sirs, I would like to arrange for a temporary assignment as a Cadet to Corey and invite him to accompany us on our Shakedown Cruise. I would suggest that he spend his time observing each and every department on the ship during the cruise and, upon our return, write a report to the command staff of the Sooloo, Commander Hanson, and the Admiralty of his experience. I feel that this would solidify Corey's desire to become a Cadet in reality. In addition, I believe it would let him know that we've been watching, and he's earned a reward for his efforts so far. I think it would cement his desire to follow the plan outlined by Commander Hanson and redouble his efforts to get into the Academy in the Fall."
"Commander," Hal opened, "please step into the hallway for a moment so we can discuss this further."
Kyle grabbed a bottle of juice from the cart and exited the conference room. He sat there for nearly an hour, his nerves starting to have an effect on him when he was called back into the conference room.
Obviously through the door on the opposite hallway, Commander Hanson, Admiral Mirah and Admiral Robinson had entered the conference room. When Kyle entered, he was astounded to see the new faces.
"Commander," Admiral Mirah stated, "please take a seat."
With far less confidence, Kyle sat, his attention on the other officers in the room.
Commander Hanson opened the comments, "I was both surprised and in the same measure not surprised by your proposal. I too, have been watching Corey and his actions, and I concur that your proposal may accomplish what you intended."
Kyle spoke up, "I suspect there is a 'but' coming."
Everyone in the room chuckled at this, but it was Admiral Mirah who continued. "It has never been done where someone who hasn't even been accepted into the academy be given, if even temporarily, the rank of Cadet. However, I have the power to make something like that happen. My question is, who on the Sooloo would have the time to escort him around the ship to each of these departments?"
"Admiral, I've given this some thought, and we commissioned Jinzo as an Ensign on the Sooloo; he is assigned to the Operations Department, knows each and every duty station on the ship and would be the best possible guide for Corey."
Mirah turned to the other officers to gauge their reactions then turned to Hal. "Captain Tietokone, the decision to allow this will ultimately be yours. Assuming you have the backing of those present, what would your decision be?"
Hal was quiet for a moment before stating, "Commander, make the invitation to Corey Adams, but, make certain to get his parents WRITTEN authorization before asking Corey."
Kyle was all smiles, "Yes, Sir. I am going to enjoy this task. Thank you all."
